Chinese Inlaid Table Top Chests Guanpixing, Qing Dynasty/Republic Period. Rare pair of table top chests inlaid with finely carved precious stone objects and silver wire. Stone and silver wire inlays originate from the Qianlong period, (1736 – 1795). The hinged top with ruyi corner mounts opening onto a compartment, the two front embellished panel doors open to reveal three rows of drawers, four short and one long all above a shaped apron. With ruyi shaped brass clasp with lock plate and bronze bail handles all with aged patina. 33cm long, 24cm deep, 32cm high.. CR – timber shrinkage, surface marks consistent with age, loss to jade, stone inlays and silver wire.
